Welcome! My name is John McCoy. I’m an illustrator based in Cincinnati, OH. I have taught Community Education art courses at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and have taught the art of mural making to local schools like Oldenburg Academy (Indiana) and St Aloysius Gonzaga (Cincinnati, OH) to all grade levels. As well I have extensive experience in Artist Residencies for mural projects giving talks on the creative process behind artworks while producing large scale murals and public artworks.

In part 8 of our series “Learning to Draw with “Fun with a Pencil” we continue our studies and drawing exercises designed to advance our drawing skills in the realm of drawing faces, as part of our journey we began in Part 1. In Part 7 we studied how to draw the laugh and the frown. In part 8 we wrap up Andrew Loomis’ section on learning to draw the emotions.

Big things are in store for us ahead, so it’s important that we take the extra time to wrap up practicing how to draw these emotions. Come along and don’t forget your pencil, paper, and ink for this adventure.

Don’t forget to like and subscribe and get ready for a fruitful learning journey!
