July 18 2023, 8:57 am - Uni, the older eaglet at our White Rock bald eagle cam nest, fledged, or took her first flight out of the nest tree, this morning. She's 86 days old, and made a lovely circle around the nest tree (watch for the shadows after takeoff in the first part of the video). She also successfully landed on a branch at the end - not always easy the first time one tries it! The video shows the view from the overhead cam, then a wide view so you can see the graceful loop and excellent landing. Watch them live at https://hancockwildlife.org/white-roc... ~JudyB

The eaglets are named by the property owner using the aviation alphabet - Uni is short for Uniform and Vic is short for Victor; we do not know the gender of either eaglet, but based on size, we suspect that Uni is female and Vic is male.
