Tarikh Episode 701
In this episode Divyanshi talks about Schwerer Gustav, or Gustav Gun, which was a colossal railway artillery piece used by Nazi Germany in World War II. It boasted an 800mm calibre and could hurl 7-ton shells over 29 miles. Primarily designed for demolishing fortified targets, it played a prominent role in the siege of Sevastopol in 1942. However, its immense size made transport and deployment arduous. After the siege, it was relocated to the Leningrad front but never saw action there. With its limited rate of fire and vulnerability to air attacks, its strategic impact was minimal. Eventually, to avoid capture, it was disassembled, likely by the Soviet Army. Despite its short-lived operational history, the Schwerer Gustav remains an emblem of Nazi Germany's ambitious wartime technology.
