James Gunn has received criticism from some fans regarding the numerous casting announcements for the first installment in the DCU, Superman Legacy. Throughout this year, there have been numerous castings for DC Comics characters, including David Corenswet as Superman, in which obviously Henry Cavill will no longer reprise his role as Superman. Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord. This also suggests that Batman and Wonder Woman will be recast in The Brave and the Bold and possibly Paradise Lost. As the DCEU comes to a close, a new era of the DC Universe begins. The characters introduced in Legacy could pave the way for The Authority film or perhaps a Justice League team-up film.
