The Flash is one of the most prominent characters in DC Comics, serving as one of the founders of the Justice League and being one of the most popular superheroes. Adaptations have boosted the character's popularity, such as the CW's "The Flash" TV show, the DCEU under Zack Snyder, the DCAU, and many others. Unfortunately, some of these adaptations tend to disrespect or neglect Barry Allen's character in some way. Many portrayals render the character one-dimensional, notably in recent adaptations like the Injustice games and "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League." The latter, the latest title in the Batman Arkham series, features evil versions of Superman and shows Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern being mind-controlled by Brainiac. Additionally, animations like the "Tomorrowverse" and "Crisis on Infinite Earths" primarily utilize The Flash for multiverse and time travel storylines, similar to how the DCAMU used him in "Flashpoint." We can only hope James Gunn's DCU reboot will shed new light on the character.
