Welcome to all those who are new to JohnMcCoyArt. I’m Cincinnati artist and illustrator John McCoy.

In part 5, advancing upon what we have previously learned, we introduce what Andrew Loomis calls the “blocky” treatment. This get’s us thinking in a more advanced way about how more diversified shapes are attached to the blook ball, which ultimately gets us understanding and drawing with more complexity!

I have taught various community Education art classes at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and taught all grade levels in local schools the art of mural painting.

It’s a New Year’s resolution of mine to practice drawing on a daily basis, and with this video I invite you to learn with me using the art education book “Fun with a Pencil” which uses Andrew Loomis’ methods of drawing.
