Hello everyone and welcome to my channel!

My name is Lia, author of the book “Transform your life: 10 steps to release what doesn’t serve you and build the life you truly want”. In this channel we talk about how to heal to live a more conscious life and in this video I want to talk about self love.

We sometimes think that self love is selfish because is focusing too much on ourselves, but that is because we confuse what love truly is. For me self-love is complete self acceptance and self-compassion. It is taking care of your own emotional and physical needs. It is saying no when we are depleted or lack the energy, it is allowing ourselves to rest, it is taking care of our bodies, it is reading or studying things that are insipiring to us. It is living in integrity, being authentic and making the daily choice to think positive. Self-Love is going after our dreams and doing things that give us joy at least from time to time. And above all, self love is about forgiving ourselves for the mistakes we make and be compassionate with ourselves in our own process.

Self-love is not self-centeredness, that is something completely different. In my experience, when we take care of our needs, when we accept ourselves, when we are compassionate with ourselves; it is easier to accept and be compassionate with others as well.
